Visit to East Side for Lunch with Power GRID

November 25, 2013

On November 22, 2013, POWER SET members from Palacios High School traveled to East Side to have their first lunch with their Power GRID mentees. This was a very exciting day for both POWER SET and Power GRID because it was the first face to face meeting that the new mentors and mentees had with one another, as well as a welcomed reunion for the veteran mentors and mentees who have not seen each other as frequently due to summer. Power GRID is an acronym for Girls Responding to Industry Demands.

The Power GRID Mentor Program provides positive high school female student mentors from the POWER SET organization to motivate pre-teen girls to cultivate leadership skills, stay engaged in school and excel in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects. Each POWER SET member mentors a female student from East Side on a one-to-one ratio.
