STUDENT HIGHLIGHT: POWER SET Member Sets a New "Standard"

August 9, 2012

Jacquelyn Wilson is a 2012 graduate of Sweeny High School. Jacquelyn was a very active member in POWER SET and proudly represented Sweeny High School and her community in many ways. Jacquelyn was the Student Advisor for POWER SET, the National Honor Society Treasurer and a member of the student council.

Jacquelyn was very involved in FFA where she was the Chapter President for three years, District President for one year, and the Area Vice President for a year. She also was the winner of the Area III FFA John Justin Award. The "Standard of the West" Award is designed to recognize those FFA members who exemplify the spirit of agriculture, along with its work ethic and family values. The selection criteria for the award are based upon the individual's integrity, honesty, helpfulness, perseverance, grades, and school attendance.

Outside of school Jacquelyn is a Sunday school teacher and a VBS teacher. Her plans are to complete her basics at Blinn and then earn a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Science at A&M Kingsville. After graduation she would like to get her masters in Ag Science from Texas A&M.
