Palacios WIT Tours WCJC's Nuclear Power Technology Program

April 26, 2017

Palacios WIT students traveled to Wharton County Junior College in Bay City to tour their facility and to learn about the different types of programs that are available for students. Under the Nuclear Power Technology associates degree program available at WCJC, students learned about the different paths they could take to achieve the degree including: Non-Licensed Operator, Electrical Technician, Instrumentation & Control Technician, and Mechanical Technician. Professor and Department Head of the Nuclear Power Technology Program, Mr. Rudolph Henry, took the students through the different paths and talked about what it takes to achieve these degrees. He also gave the students tours of all the different hands-on training labs that WCJC has to offer. Overall, it was a very interesting and informative trip.
