NPI Expert Visits Ghana

    On May 14-18, 2012, Ms. Tami Davis, NPI Associate Director, visited Ghana where she participated in the "Regional Meeting: African Network for Nuclear Power Infrastructure Development." The meeting was organized by the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) in collaboration with the Government of Ghana under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

    The meeting was a forum for African Member States that are considering, embarking or expanding a nuclear power program to discuss networking methods to build and strengthen the national and regional nuclear power infrastructure and capacity. Special emphasis was given to developing human, institutional and scientific infrastructure through cooperation in education, knowledge management as well as related research and training in nuclear power. The meeting was attended by 18 representatives from 10 African Member States planning or building the nuclear power infrastructure and four experts from IAEA including experts from Asian Network for Education in Nuclear Technology (ANENT), European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN) Association and the Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) at Texas A&M University, USA.
