January 31, 2013

The Sweeny High School Workforce Industry Training (WIT) group visited STP for a driving and Simulator tour on Wednesday, January 30, 2013.

WIT is modeled on the POWER SET program and is open to both male and female students in high schools. It offers similar benefits and opportunities as POWER SET, such as providing the educational tools and essential support to pursue educational professional opportunities in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) technical fields.

The group is sponsored by the Nuclear Power Institute in cooperation with the schools and local industry.

The tour was conducted by Sheila Davis, Corporate Communications with NUGEN member Wendy Brost, Safety Review Project Team. Demonstrating the Simulator was John Hodges, Operations Training.
