Braskem Promotes the Power of STEM

March 10, 2014
Braskem partnered with WIT (Workforce Industry Training) and POWER SET (Powerful Opportunities for Women Eager and Ready for Science, Engineering, and Technology) to bring students onsite for hands-on activities as a way to learn about various jobs associated with operating a plastics manufacturing plant and the skills needed to perform them. They also learned about Braskem.

"I am so proud to be able to show these students all that our industry has to offer," said Loris Canahuati, Plant Manager. "What is more meaningful to me is that we are helping students find their career path - and their potential for a sustainable future. By supporting organizations such as WIT and POWER SET that provide educational tools and essential support for students, Braskem is helping students understand their career options and the advantages of pursuing educational and professional opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math)."

These students will visit various industries throughout the year as well as a number of colleges as part of their research to learn more about STEM fields.
