NPI Hosts Chinese Students on Study Tour

The TEES Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) hosted a group of fifteen undergraduate students and two faculty members from Harbin Engineering University (HEU) in China on a three week study tour at Texas A&M University.  The students were all nuclear engineering students in their final year of undergraduate studies.  The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) sponsored the tour through the Division for Asia and the Pacific in the Department of Technical Cooperation. STPNOC Women in Nuclear Hosts POWER SET

On Monday, March 2, the STPNOC Women in Nuclear (WIN) hosted the Weaving the Stories of Women's Lives Symposium and invited area high schools' POWER SET (Powerful Opportunities for Women Eager and Ready for Science, Engineering, and Technology) members from Van Vleck, Bay City, Palacios, El Campo, Sweeny and Tidehaven. Twenty eight El Campo High School Workforce Industry Training (WIT) students and two teachers came to STP to take a driving and simulator tour today. After taking their tour in the morning, the afternoon was spent at Wharton County Junior College in Bay City. WIT is modeled on the POWER SET program but open to both male and female students in high schools. Sixteen Granbury High School girls were inducted into POWER SET, a student organization focused on science, engineering, and technology.  The ceremony was held December 4, 2014, in the Bagby-McMahan Performing Arts Center. PHS POWER SET and WIT Participate in Annual Spark Conference at Texas A&M

On Saturday, November 22nd, Palacios High School POWER SET and WIT traveled to the Annual Spark Conference at Texas A&M in College Station.
