Nucleargraduates Receive Technical Training at TAMU

Nucleargraduates has been networking with Texas A&MUniversity for over two years now through the International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation's (IFNEC, formerly the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership) six-monthly Infrastructure Development Working Group. Van Vleck ISD Students Learn About Nuclear Power from Author

Although students in Van Vleck ISD know of friends and relatives who work at the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company (STP), few of them really understand how electricity is generated at a nuclear power plant. However, after a visit by author Amelia Frahm, students got a glimpse of what goes on inside a nuclear power plant. Twenty-seven of the Bay City High School POWER SET students and three teachers came to take a tour on Thursday, Jan. 26 as part of the National Nuclear Science Week (Jan. 23 - 27). POWER SET, which stands for Powerful Opportunities for Women Eager and Ready for Science, Engineering and Technology, took a driving tour of the facility and got the opportunity for an in-depth presentation, given by John Hodges, in the Simulator. C-MORE Participants Visit Universities
