WIT Students Visit Petrochemical Academy

Phillips 66 hosted 72 WIT (Workforce Industry Training) members from Palacios, Van Vleck, Wharton, and El Campo. WIT is a high school organization for females and males and during this event, Phillips 66 is encouraging careers as operators and skilled crafts. Held at the Petrochemical Academy, Phillips 66 employees from the training and craft teams educated the high school students on carer paths for Instrumentation, Machinist, Pipefitter, Welder, and Operator. Christmas in the Lab

Bay City High School POWER SET and WIT hosted their mentees from Cherry Elementary Power GRID and BRT for an evening of fun and exploration with Christmas in the Lab. Sweeny POWER SET and Power GRID also participated in the evening. After taking a picture, the kids traveled through six labs or activities. They made crystallized and glitter ornaments, holiday slime, turned pennies into "gold", crafted a frame for their pictures and played a holiday game. Palacios High School POWER SET visits Sam Houston State University and Spark Conference at Texas A&M-College Station

On Friday, December 2nd, Palacios POWER SET visited Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. After a walking tour, members met with Dr. Cook and Dr. Gaillard of the Biological Science Department. On Thursday, October 6th, Palacios High School POWER SET members visited STP and met with members of their Women in Nuclear organization, as well as Aldo Capristo, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, and Kym Harshaw, the General Council.
